For several years towards the end of my conversation with Cousin Beverly, she’ll say, “I’ve gotta shift gears” or something along those lines to prompt the end of call. A simple verbal cue to let me know that it’s about time to do something different. I’ve got to do a similar thing, but with my career.

I’ve been focused on content creation. It’s all been about getting some titles under my belt which is important as an author. But having money to cover expenses is also important. Every title, every sale is all deferred income. It’s months away before I receive compensation, it’s not nearly immediate enough and I’ve gotta do some things to generate a more immediate income.

So instead of writing more and more novels, I’ve shifted my focus. I’ve begun to stretch in my craft. It’s fun and frustrating. It’s part of my pattern, to move headlong into new areas with vigor and enthusiasm. So, I’ll shift gears and move towards more immediate income sources.

Today, Monday, December 14, 2020, I am grateful that:

An assessment of my current situation was revealed and confirmed by several others or my need to shift gears.

Moving forward I’ve got an incredible network of champions. I’d mentioned to Beverly about my inability to recruit top tier talent to advance my endeavors but that doesn’t mean I’m unable to consult with the same talent.

I’ve been granted more conviction. I’m uncertain if that’s possible but it seems as if it’s true. I’m more convinced now than before and I’ll continue to move forward, determined to accomplish the tasks set forth.

Have you recently evaluated your current situation?

Would you benefit from “shifting gears” and adjusting your focus?

Have you consulted with others about your assessments?

What did you learn from those conversations?

Have you begun to implement those insights?

Be Great. Be Grateful!!!

If you feel this will help you or someone you know, please share to your timeline.
