Haven’t written this list in the past two or three days. I’ve been thinking I should discontinue this list but I don’t have anything to replace it with, so I’ll keep writing.
Earlier today I had to go out and there were far too many people on the streets. People were moving about freely, after more than two months of restrictions, it felt weird, awkward, and somewhat unfamiliar. Not the people and movement, but the readiness to move forward despite the constant threat of infection. Currently Cebu is the “hotspot” of the country and here these locals are moving around, standing in line to get passes to return to work, and acting as if the last two months meant nothing.
I maintained my distance and only deviated from my routine with not writing this morning. As I said, I’m thinking of eliminating this list.
Today, Monday, June 1, 2020, I am grateful that:
My concerns are warranted and I’ll not disregard them. I’m continuing to remain vigilant, on guard against the threat of infection. Not from fear but rather I’m of the mindset that there are things within my control. I can behave as if I’m infected, keep my distance from others, and hopefully not contract this particular infection.
I’m willing to change my routine. I’m not willing to abandon it entirely. I must have a viable alternative so once I find one, this exercise may become a thing of the past.
Herb and I had an incredibly productive conversation yesterday. I was able to ask some poignant questions, get some guidance, and clarity about how to move forward.
Are you too rigid in your routines?
Do you seek the counsel of those more experienced?
Do you follow their counsel?
If you feel this will help you or someone you know, please share to your timeline.
