Both are similar, yet have their differences. When I contemplate comfort, I tend to think about the sofa, the bed, my office chair, and even several aspects of work. Thinking of familiarity is a bit different. I think of people, eateries, and other places.
During a conversation with another expat yesterday, I explained this entire experience has been uncomfortable. I explained being away from everything that I’d become comfortable with was stressful. I explained being away from all the things I’d become familiar with raised my anxiety levels. I also explained that adaptability and flexibility were essential traits over the last few years.

Upon reflection, one of the things offering solace is writing. It’s a respite from the unfamiliar. A retreat from those uncomfortable things as I’m able to sink into my thoughts. Money is flowing in. It’s moving towards me and my company. It hasn’t stopped, only slowed a bit. The faucet is on and running. He continues to provide.

How do you alleviate your stress?
When was the last time you performed that activity?
