Les Brown tells a story of bacon and eggs. He tells how the chicken was involved but the pig was committed. Think about that for a second. The chicken was involved, it made its contribution to breakfast. The pig; however, made its contribution as well.
In your life, in your career, in your relationships, are you involved or are you committed?
Involvement is a good thing but commitment is different. It’s superlative or superior. In virtually every aspect of my life, I can tell my levels of commitment versus involvement. For several years, I’ve been moving towards more commitment and less involvement. I’ve been focusing my energy into those greater things, things for which I was meant. My time has been spent in that direction and it offers a freedom, I’m certain, most will not experience.
Today, Thursday, October 15, 2020, I am grateful that:
I’m aware of the differences between commitment and involvement. My energy will be invested in those matters which require my commitment.
Insight was granted to that distinction. I’d been involved in many things, but rarely was I committed. The difference is enormous. It’s quite substantial and meaningful and I’m happy the lesson was revealed.
Some days there are two, other days, there are more.
Digest this lesson. Read it over or watch the video again.
Did you answer the questions woven in the writing?
It’s meant for your benefit, as well as mine.
Be Great. Be Grateful!!!
